There are other funding opportunities to pursue doctoral studies at the Centre and Department of History. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Arts and Humanities Research Council offer partial and full studentships for Home and International students.

The Arts & Humanities Doctoral School offers 13 fully funded studentships for PhD programmes on, among other subjects, History.
Both UK and International students are eligible. Up to 30% of studentships can be awarded to international applicants.
Application deadline is 13 February 2026, 5 pm (UK time)
The studentship begins 1 October 2026.
The King's Doctoral College offers funding for students applyingg to joint PhD programmes between King's College London and four of its international patner universities: The University of Hong Kong, Humboldt University, Berlin, The National University of Singapore and The University of São Paulo. Students must have applied to KCL as the home institution and have provisional agreements with supervisors at both King's and the partner institution.
The scholarships cover full tuition fees at home and international rate.
Application deadline is 15 February 2026, 23:59 (UK time)
The Harold Moody studentship aims to fund Black British students eligible for home fees for PhD study at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Social Science & Public Policy and King's Business School. The scholarship offers full financial support for full time and part time studies.
The scholarship covers tuition fees only at home fee level, and applicants must be UK-permanent residents.
Application deadline is 12 April 2026, 23:59 (UK Time).
